چکیده

Plant biostimulants are “green” solutions to improve crop production. Trichoderma spp. and phosphites, ordinarily used as biocontrol agents, can trigger phytostimulation, also promoting endogenous mechanisms involved in plant growth development. The present study aimed at assessing the efficacy of a phosphite-based formulation (Phosphit-One) harzianum-T22 on morpho-physiological response modulation metabolomics profile zucchini squash plants (Cucurbita pepo L.) cultivated controlled conditions (Fitotron®). highest values fresh biomass production (390.9 g plant?1) root dry weight (5.6 were obtained for Trichoderma-treated plants. This last treatment resulted an improved physiological performance (SPAD index, CO2 assimilation rate, Fv/Fm ratio) measured 30 days after transplanting. Both phosphite treatments induced broad metabolic reprogramming leaves, evident that did not result promotion. microbial non-microbial showed distinctive signatures secondary metabolism yet, common responses could be highlighted. For instance, both triggered ROS-mediated signaling processes, together with accumulation phenylpropanoids, glucosinolates, phytoalexins. Furthermore, significant alteration phytohormones was observed, terpenoid gibberellins brassinosteroids showing largest differences. metabolomic by provided molecular insights into processes underlying elicitation defense due biostimulation. Interestingly, impair growth.

Trichoderma Secondary Metabolites Active on Plants and Fungal Pathogens

Beneficial microbes typically produce bioactive molecules that can affect the interactions of plants with their pathogens. Many secondary metabolites may also have antibiotic properties, which enable the producing microbe to inhibit and/or kill other microorganisms i.e. competing for a nutritional niche. Indeed, some of these compounds have been found to play an important role in the biocontrol...

Coevolution can explain defensive secondary metabolite diversity in plants.

Many plant species produce defensive compounds that are often highly diverse within and between populations. The genetic and cellular mechanisms by which metabolite diversity is produced are increasingly understood, but the evolutionary explanations for persistent diversification in plant secondary metabolites have received less attention. Here we consider the role of plant-herbivore coevolutio...

Purification and characterization of galactinol synthase from mature zucchini squash leaves.

Galactinol synthase catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of raffinose sugars. Previous attempts to purify the enzyme have proven difficult and have resulted in low quantities of unpurified enzyme. Galactinol synthase was purified 752-fold from mature zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L. cv Burpee Hybrid) leaves using sequential liquid chromatography on DE 52, Octyl-Sepharose CL-4B, and...

Molecular Characterization of a Fungus Producing Membrane Active Metabolite and Analysis of the Produced Secondary Metabolite

Background: The majority of studies on soil Aspergillus concern the isolation and characterization of the antimicrobial compounds produced by this organism. Our previous studies indicated an isolated Aspergillus strain soil to be of interest, and this subject is further investigated here. Method:  Soil samples of various locations in Iran were collected. Extract from Aspergillus sp. culture was...
